Eating on the Cheap
Cutting back on food spending is one of the easiest ways to save money. First and foremost, keep eating meals "out" down to an absolute minimum. This means lunches, too.
The average restaurant lunch runs from $4.50 to $9 ($4.50 being a mid-priced fast-food meal). Times five days a week you're looking at $22.50, a month is almost $100! Compare that to packing a lunch and you can reap big savings! Want to save even more? Skip the bottle of soda or juice and drink water.
So, in prime saving mode, restaurant food is a no-no—except for special occasions. We want to be frugal here, not martyrs!
